forget your high society.

November 2, 2012

there comes a time in every girls life when she just has to be a bad ass. and we here at junk gypsy decided that time was now.

a time when she needs to throw on a padded bra & a blonde wig…

a time when she must channel miranda lambert.

in case you’re confused…this is the REAL miranda…

and of utmost important…a completely bad-to-the-bone guns ‘n wings tattoo on her forearm.

{yep…the original design that we created for miranda…which then became her logo…and 4ever inked our friendship}

(we won’t mention the fact that it also put us and her in the doghouse with her daddy until the end of time)

and yes…we let blake play along too…

although he better watch out…you know what they say about a woman scorned…

and lest i forget, the most important part of this costume…attitude.

the level of bad assery must be epic.

and here’s the original KEROSENE video … one of the top 10 videos of the decade!!

even if you’ve seen it, watch it again…it’ll make ya wanna be a bad ass too…and yes, she’s rockin our merle haggard-inspired MAMA triED tanK …which had it’s own moment in the spotlight at the country music hall of fame

all thanks to KEROSENE…and a woman scorned.

Ya’ll seriously need to sell JG temporary tattoos. I cannot annoy my parents by getting a permanent one, but I could rock an occasional one. I would buy a bunch!

“Badass” has become a common word in my vocabulary and now that I use it so frequently, I find that it has no comparison, much to the chagrin of my better Christian friends.

I have Miranda’s last name and I think it’s in the Lambert bloodline to be a badass woman. Her song Gun Powder and Lead is my anthem because of what it stands for if you are or have been in a domestic violence situation this song is for you and I understand it oh too well. Love Miranda she gives women the courage to say how you feel even if it’s not politacally correct. You go Miranda !

Okay girls – t-shirt ideas for you: YOU’RE NOT JOHNNY AND I AIN’T JUNE, YOU CAN’T RESIST MY RESISTOL, and THE ONLY HELL MY MAMA EVER RAISED – now these are all lines from country songs so you may have to have your people contact their people…

You ladies inspire me. I lost my fiance earlier this year in a helicopter crash, he was a handsome, amazing pilot and my best friend. If there is ever a time in my life to be badass… it is now. I’ve quit my stupid ass corporate job, left Dallas in the dust (didn’t ever care of that town much anyway) moved down to the hill country and am saying THE HELL with anything that gets in the way of my dreams of being an independent artist and writer. I’m still a mess, still healing, but I’ve got determination like never before to kick some ass and make him proud.

I have been thinking of a tattoo to get in his memory, we both loved shooting, and of course him being a pilot.. ya’lls tattoo totally resonated with me! It’s definitely getting saved for inspiration for this very important tattoo (and my first ever!)

Thank you ladies for being your badass selves!!! I’ll def be following along with your blog <3

    Blessings!

Love the truck. Just like the one in Bridges over Madison County with Clint Eastwood remember. I don’t live to far from a Bass Pro and they have one parked in front of the store. I’d love to junk. I had a find at the GoodWill store. Large oil of men in a canoe going over rapids. 12.50. Bought it because there was just something about it that I liked. It wasn’t like anything I have in my house. Got home went on the internet and know what . It was by an Candian Painter early 1800s, Worth approx. 245.00. It was a good day.
