locked & reloaded.

this is what we did friday…

and this is why….

our 2 greatest friends in country music reuniting for a tour together.

miranda lambert. & dierks bentley.

reunited…and it feels so good.

and when they asked us to work up the official logo for this epic tour…we knew it had to be nothing short of rockstar awesome.

no guts. no glory.

we channeled southern rock, old-school country, and ZZ top’s “i’m bad. i’m nationwide”

{"with my new york brim & my gold tooth displayed". thanks to thestate.com for this image}

{the offiicial tour stage backdrop...yep, we're pretty dang excited about JG art being blown up 50 ft X 30 ft!!! thanks to a fellow tweepster 4 this image!}

and then we decided to capture our own interpretation of the tour theme…

{locked & reloaded tour sweatshirt}

{mama's broken heart burnout raglan...totally awesome}

and you know us gypsies love our buckles….so we designed a couple o’ new ones…

both with custom engraving on the back…

we channeled badassery. we channeled the wild west. and then we wrapped up our high noon shoot…

{high noon. ranell rockin our new LUCY in the SKY lace pants}

we’ll be seeing y’all down the trail…and by trail, we mean we’ll see y’all down the road where we’ll be screaming our heads off like crazy teenagers at the locked and reloaded tour.

rock on, country rockstars.

forget your high society.

there comes a time in every girls life when she just has to be a bad ass. and we here at junk gypsy decided that time was now.

a time when she needs to throw on a padded bra & a blonde wig…

a time when she must channel miranda lambert.

in case you’re confused…this is the REAL miranda…

and of utmost important…a completely bad-to-the-bone guns ‘n wings tattoo on her forearm.

{yep...the original design that we created for miranda...which then became her logo...and 4ever inked our friendship}

(we won’t mention the fact that it also put us and her in the doghouse with her daddy until the end of time)

and yes…we let blake play along too…

although he better watch out…you know what they say about a woman scorned…

and lest i forget, the most important part of this costume…attitude.

the level of bad assery must be epic.

P.S. just in case y’all missed the CMA awards last night…we’re bursting with pride for our girl, miranda LaMBERT & her partner in crime, BLaKE SHeLTON! lonG LiVE country music! and WILLIe NELSoN!!!

and here’s the original KEROSEnE video…one of the top 10 videos of the decade!!

YouTube Preview Image

even if you’ve seen it, watch it again…it’ll make ya wanna be a bad ass too…and yes, she’s rockin our merle haggard-inspired MAMA triED tanK …which had it’s own moment in the spotlight at the country music hall of fame

all thanks to KEROSENE…and a woman scorned.

wanderlust.

one might ask what is it about an airstream? why are they so appealing? why, after 80 years on the road, are they still timeless?

and i think, i know the answer.

airstreams are romantic. they are mysterious. they infer adventure and freedom and wanderlust.

from the griswalds to rockstars & movie stars…

they are the great american roadtrip.

our love affair with airstreams began long ago…it began with our love of the road.

“keep your eyes on the stars & the stars in your eyes.” ~wally byam

from roadside eateries…

{grabbing green smoothies from happy belly cafe}

to filming our HGTV series….

from MiRANDA LAMBERt‘S roadside bar on wheels we designed for her…

and now…DiERKS BENTLEy‘S junk gypsy-fide airstream will be featured this SATURDAY, MAY 12 on HGTV…

and did i mention…

that airstreams are sexy?

 (and yes, i do realize this is not an airstream buuuut it’s james dean, y’all…so for the sake of my daydreamin’-airstreamin’-james deanin’ blog…i’m calling it an airstream. so there.)

rebel child.

there’s something about a photoshoot that i love. that we all love. it’s exciting. it’s new.

for this shoot we were inspired by roadside stops and old merle haggard songs. dusty, crusty ole codgers and all things americana. we were born free and we were born to dream.

we get seriously EXCITED every day around 4:45pm when nacho our UPS driver shows up with new goods. new jewelry. decor. threads. goods that we’ve scoured near and far, high and low in search of…goods that we LOVE and hope you do too.

it’s like christmas morning every time a new tee design rolls in the door.

and i LOVE that we still LOVE our new stuff. and since we only do a big photoshoot 3-4 times a year, it’s always fun to pull out all the new goods and play dress up.

for this photoshoot, our supermodel is a local mom. we met ranell while shooting our HGTV series…watch for her in an upcoming episode! but until then, she’s our cat-walkin’, super-vogue, supermodel.

the scene of the crime:

{the MeRRY CHriSTMAS bar. amen & hallelujah.}

the merry christmas bar…right here in round top. originally known as M.E. SCHULZE grocery. but here’s the story….way back when, mr. schulze wasn’t very festive around christmas time so one year the local townspeople decided to decorate for him by mounting a giant sign atop the store. christmas came and went. and the sign remained. eventually, the market/watering hole/local gathering spot became known as the merry christmas bar. and to this day, the sign remains and so does the name. mr. schulze just left that ole sign there to be ornery…and now, it just adds to the awesome-ness. and y’all, this is the stuff that makes little old towns so cool…the fact that places like the merry christmas bar still remain…and they have a history. a story. and now we can keep the legend going. (and by the way…watch for the ole merry christmas bar in an upcoming HGTV episode too!)

and while we were doing this outside…

{"despite all my sunday learning...towards the bad i kept on turning" - merle haggard}

here’s what was going on inside…

{the stories these walls could tell...}

about 500 more shots outside…

{amen. and amen.}

{native american inspired}

{love this shot. and hell yes, these boots are beyond bad to the bone}

these thelma & louise style shots had little purpose for showin the goods but we couldn’t resist…

{dashboard therapy. daydreamin through the windshield}

they’re some of my faves…

{catchin' dreams}

 meanwhile…back at the ranch…

{archie gettin vogue in her fave new tee}

 and we outfitted ranell with more newwww stuff…

{dreamcatcher.}

and yes…we were each doubling as photographer, stylist, supermodel & moms…kids were in tow…

{ranell's daughter gettin some camera time}

{turquoise love.}

 annnnd another wardrobe…

{kiss my biscuits.}

 see no evil…

{one of my fave new bracelets...the harlow. vintage glam.}

day 2 was a rainy, rainy day…we took refuge in our new under-construction building…

and day 3 was fast & furious…

with only 1 tee to shoot…our new exclusive for miranda lambert design…

{fastest girl in town.}

that’s it for now…hope y’all dig the new goods!! check em out hErE!! and let us know what y’all think!!!

**P.S. we’ve been having a few technical issues in gypsyville…y’all please bear with us as we are working hard to get ‘em fixed! we’ve begged and pleaded with our web company…i wonder if they’ve met duke? :)
